I like the texture of the hat....

i think both have their strongpoints

but on the whole the colour gets my vote because of the lipstick

The ability of the hat to absorb light and then make the nose and lips prominent in their own right is just excellent. Skin tone, not as hot on... but you know, it's a guy thing

It's really the ability to compose and to judge, sometimes in a split second; othertimes in post processing, just which 'part' you want to emphasise or bring to the fore. In other words: equilibrium. Now, as artists, we choose how that equilibrium is maintained or created....
